7am mowing and trimming the lawn outside my room. Woke us up! I don't go on vacation to wake up at 7am
TOWEL DIRTY--One bath towel was dirty. We left it on the rack because too dirty to use!
DOORS VERY DIRTY--Back of room door and bathroom doors have not been cleaned for some time. Streaks of dried liquid running down both doors. Fingerprints and hand oils on handles and around door handles area. Disgusting!
DEBRIS IN SHOWER AND ON FLOOR--(including hairs)--Floors not swept for some time.
TRASH UNDER BEDS--A disposable cigarette lighter noticed under bed. When reached for it I noticed much more trash under beds. Rooms obviously not swept or mopped for months.
No carpet just bear wood floors. Sign outside said "Newly Remolded rooms" only if the sign has been up since 1970. No tub only a small shower.
Front desk was very rude and had a very smart mouth. There was a storm. The TV didn't work. I called the front desk to see if they were aware. She was short with her answer saying, yes I know. I asked what that meant. I really have no problem not having a TV. She said "well I'm not going to crawl up on the roof and fix it for you". By the way I overheard her being nasty to another person on the phone when I checked in. Anyway from what I've heard Wells has nicer staff at motel 6. Will use that one for our future stay in that area.
When I checked out I asked for the name and telephone number of the general manager so I could call and talk to him about this. I was told the manager is Kishan Patel, but I couldn't get his number to call him. The man at the desk was not interested in the items that I reported above. His attitude was "So what? We couldn't care less. Now move and and leave us alone."
Motel 6 is not for me. I like a few amenities when I stay in a motel, like tissues, heat source in bathroom for a shower, in room coffee- not in office and. More than 1 skinny (2") pillow for both people. Room was neat and clean. Parking was horrid as they were repaying parking lot and they managed to spatter tar on the fenders of our trailer.
Dirty pool! Had stuff floating on the surface and the water had a brown appearance.
FLOOR EXTREMELY DIRTY--Room and bathroom; bottom of bath mat was dirty just from it being moved while being used. I used paper towels to wipe parts of the floor and the towels were BLACK from the accumulated dirt.
Quiet, clean room. Good facilities at the hotel: laundry, vending, etc.
Small room smaller Queen size beds and they were pushed right up against the wall. I had to climb over my wife to get out of bed.
Great value for the price. Enjoyed my 3-night stay. Friendly staff. That steam engine railroad in ELY is something else.
I have stayed with Motel 6 for decades. This property in Ely was one of the most disappointing motel accommodation I have experienced in years from any chain.
REGARDING REST OF SURVEY: I like Motel 6 but general managers are all different. Some work hard to keep a clean and respectable property; others do not care in the slightest. My remarks apply only to the Ely, Nevada property.
