Although this hotel may be historic the staff and their attitudes need to get with the 21st century.
Then, while waiting for some of our friends to come pick us up, we did a little gambling, had a beer, and ate at the denny's attached to the hotel..
Don't miss out on a great experience! Tons of history and old vibe still alive! Make sure to get room 408. It's haunted!
I enjoy staying here. Good friendly place. Haven't had eats yet at Denny's but so far so good. Our room was nice clean and quiet.
We were rudely approached by a woman from the hotel telling us we were loitering. She didn't care to hear about the hundreds of dollars we had spent at the hotel in the past 12 hours. It became clear very quickly that the negative attention we were receiving was based on our appearance— women with tattoos, men with long hair, general New York artist types.
We will not be back and we will warn all our friends how we were treated at Hotel Nevada.
A hotel should be inviting to all travelers, especially ones there willing to spend money, drink and gamble.
Although the rooms were cozy, the waitstaff made us feel extremely unwelcome.
Stayed there Oct 9, 2017 on a trip across Hwy 50. Treated well by the hotel staff, and the price was fair. Typical atmosphere of a lower-end casino. The old structure was renewed a few years ago, but it is time to do it again---especially as it applies to paint, carpets, drapes, bedding, etc. Our room was understandably small, and though the renewals (wall hangings, etc) are nice, especially the carpet was disgustingly filthy. Not just dirty, but filthy. Denny's breakfast was quite good. We wanted to stay there because of the historical nature of the building, but history and filth do not have to go together. It is my last time there.
This woman's actions directly kept us from staying there again the next night.
We rented three rooms one night and requested a late checkout in the morning considering we were getting in well after midnight. They gave us an extra hour— during that hour the cleaning ladies sat outside our rooms loudly complaining and vacuuming directly in front of the doors.
This isn't easy rider and their backwards redneck hospitality isn't winning any popularity contests.
What a wonderful experience! I was just passing through and found this wonderful gem. Comfortable bed, great staff. Built in the 20's. They have maintained the nostalgia, while bringing the comfort level to the current standards.
